Happy Sunday y’all! It’s time for another book tag!
I was tagged by a fellow book blogger, the lovely Lilly, over at LiarofBooks! Make sure you check out her blog for some more awesome posts. Thank you Lilly, for including me in this super fun tag, let’s do this!
Wonder Woman: Your favorite badass female book character…
Hands down, Lada, from Kiersten White’s series, The Conquerer’s Saga. Lada, is one of the most badass characters YA has ever seen. She is brutal, unapologetic, ruthless, dark, and twisted. It seems with each book she becomes more badass, and I cannot wait for Bright We Burn to come out. Although, I will admit, I am incredibly nervous.
Fantasy Island: A book setting you want to escape to…
I meannnnn, do I really need to say more? I’m still waiting for my Hogwarts letter. But I guess if I have to settle with visiting Harry Potter World every once in awhile it is what it is.
London: A hyped book that let you down…
Honestly, I’m not understanding the hype around this one. I rated it 3/5 stars on Goodreads. People have been RAVING about this series. I love a good murder mystery and I love reading about serial killers, so I was super excited to read about one of the most well known unsolved serial killer cases there is. However, I found this to be rather predictable. I figured out who the murderer was VERY early on. Also, I am not aboard the Thomas Cresswell train just yet but there is still some hope since I do plan on continuing this series.
P.S – You can add Strange the Dreamer to this also because dear lord did that book DRAG.
Steve Trevor: A book that has a beautiful cover and a great story (i.e. good personality)…
I am still not over this book. There was not one thing I disliked in this book. The cover, the setting, the characters, the magic, the music, it all was so amazing. 10/10 would recommend.
Lasso of Truth: A book you hated…
This is a MASSIVE unpopular opinion, I know. But I’m not even sorry. In case you can’t read the tiny font this is The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I made zero connections with any of the characters and the writing style definitely was not for me. I’m still debating if I want to give the movie a shot because I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.
The Amazons: A book that you wish had more/better LGBT+ representation…
Surprise, surprise, here we are! I’ve stated this in my ACOWAR review on Goodreads but I was generally not happy with the way Mor’s character was written in this book. The reason why is because prior to this book coming out Maas received major backlash over her books not being diverse enough, which yes was a major problem. Not only did her books not have any POC but there was no LGBT+ rep either. So to fix this issue, it felt like Maas basically shoved all of the above down our throats. Was I happy that we now had POC & LGBT+ characters? Of course, but I think they should have been there the entire time not just when readers spoke up. In ACOTAR and ACOMAF, Mor’s character seemed like it was written to have a VERY different end game than ACOWAR. And while I am totally 110% on board with Mor being gay I felt like we were given that end game so that people could no longer say “Sarah J. Maas books are problematic and lack diversity.” I HOPE that in ACOFAS Mor will getting the ending and happiness she so desperately deserves.
Justice League: What superhero book friends do you tag…

I hope you all have fun with this one as much as I did 😉
Until next time!
This looks like so much fun😊 Thanks for tagging me! I totally agree with you about ACOWAR too! The diverse representation seemed like a forced after thought.

Of course!! I’m so glad some people feel the same way I do about ACOWAR, I was so nervous to address it in my review when I posted it on Goodreads but I thought it could have been handled so much better.

It is a bit of a touchy subject but I agree with you whole heartedly! I love diversity in books but the way it was handled in ACOWAR cheapened it!
