Yep, you read that right.
If theres one thing you should know about me it’s that HALLOWEEN IS LIFE. I don’t mess around when it comes to the greatest time of year. My Halloween decorations go up the day after Labor Day, in fact I’ve already started buying decorations for this year. So when I saw this tag over at Reader Voracious I knew I immediately needed to do it.
Let’s not waste anytime, shall we?

1) WHAT BOOK GAVE YOU THE CREEPS?
I’m sticking with the same answer as Reader Voracious on this one. Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark basically traumatized me as a child. The book is mainly known for the story about a girl who wears a ribbon around her neck everyday, until one day her husband unties the ribbon and her freaking head pops off, which includes illustrations and all. Mind you, this is a children’s book. HOWEVER, the story that absolutely ruined my life is a girl who wakes up with a blemish on her face and it turns out to be spider eggs growing in her cheek and they hatch all over her face. AGAIN THIS INCLUDES ILLUSTRATIONS. I have the chills just thinking about it, so naturally one day when I have children I’ll traumatize them with these stories too.
2) WHAT BOOK GIVES YOU THE BEST HALLOWEEN VIBES?
I really don’t know why but for some reason it’s Harry Potter and the Socerer’s Stone, I’m not sure if it’s because I associate it with the movie when the castle is decorated for Halloween or with the beginning of a new school year. But either way I always tend to do my rereads around Halloween since it just feels right in my soul.
3) WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VAMPIRE BOOK?
Pull up a seat and listen to me scream about The Vampire Academy series for five days straight because I could totally do it. Rose and Dimitri and my forever and always OTP. UGH, I just love that series with every last bit of my heart.
But also the Blood of Eden trilogy by Julie Kagawa was AMAZING and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes vampire or dystopian novels.
4) WHAT BOOK SCARED YOU SO MUCH YOU HAD TO SLEEP WITH THE LIGHT ON?
The Merciless by Danielle Vega was pretty wild. I’ve never read a book that scared me so much I had to sleep with the lights on. Movies on the other hand, I have a list a mile long. But The Merciless creeped me the hell out and I pulled one of those “turn off the lights and run through your house as fast as you can to get to your room” moves once I finished it.
5) WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BOOK ABOUT WITCHES/GOBLINS/GHOSTS/DEMONS?
Did someone say goblins? Let me tell you about a certain Goblin King who stole my heart 😏. If you haven’t read Wintersong by S. Jae Jones, 10/10 would recommend. It’s one of my all-time favorites and The Goblin King is EVERYTHING. Everything, I tell you. As for witches, I’m going with The Wicked Deep.
Ghosts and demons I haven’t read to much about so if you have any rec’s send them my way!!
6) WHAT BOOK DO YOU WISH WAS SCARIER THAN IT WAS?
Dead Leaves: 9 Tales from the Witching Season was so underwhelming. Seriously, Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark is scarier than this book and it’s a children’s book. I found this book on Amazon when I was looking for a Halloween read a few years ago and honestly it was a major let down.
7) WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BOOK THAT TAKES PLACE IN OCTOBER?
Honestly, I couldn’t really think of one that takes place in October. I did however, recently DNF Hocus Pocus & The All-New Sequel, which obviously takes place in October. Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite movies ever so I was excited to read it but unfortunately it was another let down for me and I didn’t want to finish it because I’d like to keep my opinion of the Hocus Pocus movie in tact, thank you very much.
Thats all for today friends!
See you all in August (a.k.a one month closer the Halloween!)
Until next time!
