Hello bookish friends!
Previously on The Bookish Chick’s blog (still holding on to this TVD reference), I gave you guys some of my most memorable reads and books still sitting on my TBR with the letter F. This week we’re moving on to the letter G, and one thing I’ve learned is that I seriously need to find more books that start with this letter!
If you missed my post last week you can check it out HERE.
You can add me on Goodreads HERE.
Let’s dive in!
Most Memorable Reads
- Gemina, is the second book in The Iluminae Files, which is easily one of the most unique stories I’ve ever read. I’m not a big sci-fi fan but this book sucked me in from the way is was told through e-mails, camera surveillance, group chats, reports, diagrams, and so much more. 10/10 would recommend.
- Girl Made of Stars, is one of the most powerful books I’ve ever read and while it is a heavy read it’s EXTREMELY important. You can check out my review HERE.
Books Still on My TBR
- Girls of Paper and Fire, has been sitting pretty on my TBR for quite some time and I can’t wait to add it to my bookshelf on November 6th!
- Grim Lovelies, is yet another 2018 release that I can’t wait for. You best believe I’ll be hustling to the bookstore October 2nd to get my hands on this.
That’s all for this week!
Until next time,
I read Grim Lovelies as an advanced reader copy and loved it! A lot of YA books are just another rendition of the same story, but Grim Lovelies is enchanting the entire way through and like nothing I’d read before.

Gemina is such a good read. I haven’t checked out any Ashley Herring Blake books at all. Do you have any recommendation as to where I could start with her work? Any trigger warnings?
Also: I have been seeing a lot of posts about Grim Lovelies and I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on that book. It has a beautiful cover and it sounds eerie.

Honestly, Girl Made of Stars is the only book I’ve ever read by Ashley Herring Blake but I definitely plan on reading more of them! Girl Made of Stars is a book that deals with rape, sexual, assault, and victim-blaming. However, I’m not sure about any of her other work!
Ahhh I’m so excited for Grim Lovelies, everything about it just sounds so good. I’ll definitely have a review up once I read it!

Now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t have mangy books that I read starting with the letter G. I need to get more of those.
