Welcome back, witches! 🎃✨
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done an unboxing on the blog, so today we’re going to unbox the September Secrets and Shadows LitJoy crate! If you know me, you know both secrets and shadows/anything dark are MY JAM, which means I couldn’t renew my subscription fast enough!
Also, apologies in advance for the crapy picture quality but my camera happened to have a meltdown so I had to take this pictures on my phone 🙃
Here’s the description behind this September’s theme:
This thrilling book takes place in a fantasy world with a protagonist whose magic must be kept a secret. The stakes are high in the face of tyrants and oppressive colonialism. When her Magic is both the key to surviving and the very thing that could end her life, she must choose which lies to live. .
UM, YES PLEASE!
First up, we have our spoiler card, which also happens to be printed on the inside of the dust jacket of the book of the month. We also get two trading cards that feature characters from the book of the month!
Next up, we have an illustration of Zelie, from Children of Blood and Bone that is STUNNING! The artist is sooo freaking talented! If you haven’t read this book you need to immediately, it was such an amazing story.
After that we have a set of 6 tea light battery operated candles which I am all about. I have a slight obsession with candles and this will work great for bookstagram props and setting the mood for all the spooky reads happening this month!
Next up, we have a Harry Potter patronus infinity scarf. Ya’ll I DIED when I saw this. Plus the Always and the doe patronus, consider me deceased. I can’t wait to add this to my Fall wardrobe.
While we’re on the subject of Harry Potter, this month’s box also came with a tote bag that features an illustration from The Tale of the Three Brothers. Give me ALL the Harry Potter goodies!
NOW FOR THE BOOK OF THE MONTH!
This month’s book is For a Muse of Fire by Heidi Heilig. This book also comes signed, with a letter, AND has the exclusive LitJoy cover with a print on the inside of the dust jacket! I hadn’t heard too much about this book but after reading the synopsis it sounds right up my alley. Plus, the cover of this book is even more beautiful in person!
LitJoy is the one subscription box that I keep going back to. All of the items included in the box are always great quality and the books they pick are always ones I find intriguing! I absolutely LOVED this months, but I’m not going to lie, I can’t wait for next months Dark Fairytale theme!
Until next time,
