Wrap Up: October 2018

Hello bookish friends!✨

Happy November! Even though I’m still a little bitter October came and went so quickly its officially my birthday month, so at least I have something to look forward to! The month of October was far from my best reading month but I’m still pretty proud of it because I was able to read five books and basically move my entire house by myself. Now that the dreadful move is FINALLY over I can get back into the swing of reading. Out of the five books I read one was an e-ARC, the other’s were basically all reads to keep me caught up with all the series I’m currently in the middle of, and I also had one DNF this month too.

What I read in the month of October

Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson – ★★★★
The Lost Sisters by Holly Black – ★★★★★
The Wicked King by Holly Black – ★★★★★
Escaping from Houdini by Kerry Maniscalco – ★★★
Tower of Dawn – ★★★★★

Reviews for October Reads

Blogtober – Review: Undead Girl Gang

Blogtober – Review: The Lost Sisters

The rest of the reviews will be up soon now that I have internet again 😉

What If It’s Us is a book that now resides on my DNF shelf. Too much chit chat, too little plot paired with a bunch of unlikeable characters made this difficult to get the halfway mark before calling it quits.

That’s all for today!

Until next time,

  1. Oh man, I’ve heard so many great reviews on What if it’s Us . Sorry you didn’t enjoy it! I wasn’t in love with the writing style from Becky’s first book. So I don’t know if I want to give this one a try or not. It doesn’t sound super interesting to me. I also want to read the first book in the Holly Book series for The Wicked King! It sounds so gooooooood. Plus those covers are to die for! *insert heart eye emoji*

    1. It’s all good, plenty of other books to pick up haha! I liked Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda but didn’t really care for Leah on the Offbeat, the writing wasn’t really working for me either. Plot wise nothing really happened so it just felt like a waste of my time and I’ve come to the point where I’m not about to force myself to read things I just don’t care about lol.

Oh my gosh PLEASSSSE read The Cruel Prince, it’s so freaking good 😍😭

    1. You definitely should! It seems my opinion is on the unpopular side so don’t let it sway you. I’m never the type of person to tell someone to not read a book because you might take something from it that I never did, so if you give it a go I hope you enjoy it! ☺️

    1. Me too so I was a little bummed that it wasn’t what I thought it would be, but it’s all good.

You DEFINITELY need to get your hands on The Wicked King, it was so good! 😭
