Unboxing: FabFitFun – Is it really worth it?

What’s up, bookish friends?!

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! Recently, I tweeted about how excited I was for my FabFitFun box to come in and created a poll asking if you guys would be interested in seeing what’s inside my Spring 2019 box. You guys voted yes, and now here we are! So today’s post is going to be un-book related (don’t worry I am in no means becoming a beauty/lifestyle blogger and will resume all bookish posts after this), but I wanted to show you guys some of the things I’m super excited about because aside from reading I LOOOOOOVE me some good ol’ self care and that’s what a lot of this box is about.

If you don’t know what a FabFitFun box is, it’s essentially a subscription box that comes once every season with a bunch of full size beauty, fitness, and fashion products retailing over $200 per box. And if dishing out over $200 doesn’t sound ideal to you, don’t panic. The first box is $39.99 and every box after is $50, which honestly sounded too good to be true, especially since a few of these items you can pick out prior to your box shipping. Naturally, I had to put it to the test.

Let’s dive in!

What’s In My Spring 2019 Box?

Standard Items

Let’s start with the standard items, which means they come in every box regardless the type of membership you have. I have the standard membership currently.

Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub
Retail value of $34.95

Verdict: I love any type of body scrub so I am definitely going to be using this ASAP.

OUAI Leave in Conditioner
Retail value of $26.00

Verdict: I cannot wait to try this. I am always looking for new products to tame the frizzy mop on my head and make it look sleek and shiny.

dr. brandt skincare needles no more® NO MORE BAGGAGE™ eye de-puffing gel
Retail value of $42.00

Verdict: I actually tried this as soon as I opened my box because the BAGS are real under my eyes. Ya girl is perpetually tired, and this actually worked! Maybe I’ll require less coffee to look alive now.

Surprise Items

Now it’s time for the “surprise” items. These are items that FabFitFun chooses for you if you have a standard membership. I wasn’t too nervous about this because you have to take a survey which helps them choose your items for each box.

Sip_By_Swell_Aqua_1549308388.1947_1549308388.4222S’ip by S’well
Retail value of $19.99

Verdict: I was hoping this was going to be in my box because I drink A LOT of water everyday. I try to drink a gallon of water a day at work and then whatever else I need when working out, so this is definitely going to come in handy. Plus, the design on mine is super cute.

daily-concepts-detox-massaging-brush-5_1549308625.7672_1549308625.9789Daily Concepts Daily Detox Brush
Retail value of $18.00

Verdict: I will 100% be using this because my skin is dry AF in the warmer months since I go tanning. 🙃

My Picks

This should be pretty self explanatory. This three items are ones that I chose prior to receiving my box.

Giadzy Copper Plated Measuring Spoons
Retail value of $15.00

Verdict: At some point I’ll use these. I’m not a huge baker but I also didn’t have measuring spoons in my house and I thought these were cute so it was an easy pick.

Quay My Girl Sunglasses in Black/Smoke
Retail value of $55.00

Verdict: Here’s the thing… Quay has all the trendy styles without a designer price tag. However, they’re made SUPER cheap, so I’d rather pay an arm and a leg for quality sunglasses. I used to have a of pair of Quay glasses and I dropped them once and the lenses came flying right out. I wouldn’t spend $50 on a pair of sunglasses made with drugstore glasses quality, but they’re kind of free with the value of all the other items in this box, so it is what it is. They’ll be perfect for my upcoming vacation to Florida where I wouldn’t really care if I lost them or if they came flying off on a ride at Harry Potter World. #sorrynotsorry

Brie_Robe_Show_Me_Your_Mumu_02.jpg_1549307501.6822_1549307501.8151Show Me Your Mumu Brie Robe
Retail value of $84.00

Verdict: I’ve wanted a Show Me Your Mumu robe literally FOREVER. But helllllo, $85 is a lot to dish out for a robe, so this right here is the entire reason I got the Spring Box, because not only did I basically get the robe for 50% off but I got all the other items above too. Now, I will basically live in this robe during the spring/summer because it is the softest robe I’ve ever had and perfect for when I’m doing my hair and makeup!

Here’s the robe unfolded so you can see the design a little better.

Final Verdict: Is it worth it?

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

My vote is in and the answer is YES, this box was 100% worth it!
In total my box’s value comes to $276.94 and I paid $39.99 for my first box. Now I’m ready for summer to hurry the heck up so I can get my next box (and if you know me, you know I’ve never once wanted summer to hurry up and get here)!
