Hello, bookish friends!! 😎 🌺
I can’t believe that it’s already that time of year where the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag is floating around! Where has the first half of the year gone?!
So far I’ve read 36 books this year and I’m right on track if I want to reach my goal of 75 books this year. However, I am thinking of possibly upping my goal since I am going to have A LOT more time to myself later this year. ICYMI: I’m expecting not one but TWO babies come January! I want to try to get as much reading done as possible this year since who knows what next year will look like for me!
Now let’s dive into the books I’ve read so far this year!
Best Book You’ve So Far Read in 2019
Me and just about everyone else, right?
There was so much to love about this book and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if come December this book is still my favorite book of the year!

Best Sequel You’ve So Far Read in 2019
I haven’t read too many sequels so far, but this was by far my favorite. I may have even liked it more than Truly Devious. And I was in a serious book hangover after the ending of this one. Book three, where are you?!
You can find my double review HERE.
New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To
To my lovely witches, I promise I’m coming for you!
I’ve been in a major reading slump for the last three months since I’ve had a lot on my mind, and I didn’t want to not give this book my full, undivided attention. Now that I’m slowly starting to get back into the full swing of reading I have my sights set on this gorgeous book.
Most Anticipated Release of the Second Half of 2019
I mean, would you expect anything else?!
First of all, the cliffhanger The Wicked King left us on was just plain CRUEL and I am still ready to sue for emotional damages. But I will refrain from doing so since Holly Black moved the release date of this gem up to November 19th a.k.a one day after my birthday. I will accept this as a gift, but I’ve got my eyes on you, Holly.
Biggest Disappointment
I’m trying to forget this happened.
This had so much potential, y’all.
SO FREAKING MUCH.
Biggest Surprise
I didn’t doubt that I would enjoy this since I’m a big fan of CoHo’s books. However, I was not expecting to love this as much as I did nor was I expecting to hysterically cry for basically the second half of the book.
Color me surprised.

Favorite Crush
I always have a whole lotta love for Legend from the Caraval trilogy. Any type of angsty, hard to read type of guy is the way to my heart. And I’m just saying I would gladly give an arm or a leg to get more books from Legend’s POV. Even if that doesn’t happen I’m perfectly content with the ending of Finale, but I will truly miss Legend and Tella.
Favorite Character
Hello, Andrew Minyard and Damon Torrance.
My favorite psychotic, soft boys.
I love you a lot.
Book That Made You Cry
OOF.
This book not only made me cry and ripped my heart of my chest but it was such an important and powerful read. If you enjoy books that tackle heavy topics then you shouldn’t let this one pass you up, but it’s definitely not an easy read.

Book That Made You Happy
I just posted my review for Call It What You Want on here yesterday, but I’m happy to talk about it again. This contemporary starts off on the heavier side but by the end will have you grinning fro ear to ear, just like every other contemporary novel by Brigid Kemmerer.

Favorite Blog Post of Mine
My favorite posts are all book tags that I had an absolute blast doing.
The Identity Crisis Book Tag
Game of Thrones Book Tag
Coffee Book Tag
Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought this Year
I’m a sucker for this cover.
Plus, the hardcover is red and gorgeous and I just want to live in it.
So there’s that.

What book do you need to read by the end of the year?
I don’t need to necessarily read this by the end of the year but I would LIKE to read this by the of the year. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knocking a gigantic book of your TBR, and I don’t read it this year who knows if I’ll ever get around to read it.
Here’s to hoping the rest of 2019 is filled with a lot enjoyable reads!
Until next time,
Aww man, there are so many books on here that I actually need to read. Or finish. At least you’re on track! And in case I didn’t say so when you announced on Twitter—Congrats (x2)!!

Congratulations again on your twin ❤ I'm so happy for you and wish you nothing but the best. I definitely want to read Priory of the Orange Tree by the end of the year, but that book is massive lol.

You’re the second person to list Red White and Royal Blue as their favorite this year so far! I think I’m going to have to crawl out of my 4 month reading slump and give this a try.
Also I NEED to find These Witches Don’t Burn. On my recent trip to Barnes and Noble I was actually looking for a witchy book and couldn’t find anything I liked.
