Hey, friends! 🎃🍂✨
Let’s talk fall and Halloween, shall we? I figured now is a good time since we’re halfway through September to share the books I plan on reading this spooky season (and yes, in my book it’s spooky already season). My house has been fully decorated since September 1st so now it’s time to get the blog ready to go for my favorite time of year. Looking back on it I probably should have posted this a little earlier since I’ve already read 5 books off this list, however, I’ll just add those to my recommendation list that I’m planning on posting sometime next week!
You can click on any of the book covers below to take you over to Goodreads and check out the synopsis.
Let’s dive in!
What I’m reading this Fall/Halloween
Not Even Bones
Not Even Bones has been on my TBR and my physical bookshelf for what feels like forever. Pitched as Dexter meets This Savage Song this book sounds like it will be a bloody good time and who doesn’t love a little gore for Halloween?
There’s nothing more that I love than cozying up with a book that has magical realism in it on a chilly autumn day. This book definitely centers around heavier themes and I’ve seen some pretty mixed reviews on it but I’m hoping it ends up being a hit for me.
My Plain Jane
Ghost hunting and a spin on the classics? Sign me up. Plus, this trio of authors had me practically in tears with laughter in their first book My Lady Jane. So even though I’m not necessarily expecting this to be a super spooky read I’m still here for all of it and feel it will be a good buffer for some of the darker reads I have planned.
Kingdom of the Wicked
Kingdom of the Wicked is one of my most anticipated reads for the rest of 2020 and I cannot wait for this book to FINALLY be delivered to my doorstep. Even though I probably won’t finish this by Halloween since it releases on the 27th I’m trying to plan it out that this will be my last read of this year’s spooky season…give or take a few days.
Witches, romance, and it’s set in Ireland? Yes, please. There’s nothing like reading a good ol’ witchy tale this time of year and I’m so excited to finally give Nora Roberts’ books a try!
Clown in a Cornfield
The cover of this book just radiates horror and I’m living for it. A slasher book is an absolute must for October and I’m really hoping this book delivers on that. From what I’ve seen it has some pretty solid reviews already so I can’t wait for my copy to get here.
From Blood and Ash
I may have started this one last night and I’m already absolutely living for it. I think by now y’all get that books with paranormal creatures are the way to my heart, however, vampires will always be my favorite. I absolutely refuse to ever let vampire books die so you better believe a steamy vampire book is always a high priority to get my hands on.
I’ve mentioned this book in an earlier post on here so this is more of a friendly reminder that this book comes out today and seems like it would be absolutely perfect to get creeped out by, hence, why this is at the top of my TBR for October!
Now the real question is will I be able to finish all of these?
I certainly hope so and I feel as though I’ve already put a pretty good dent in my TBR since starting my spooky reads. Fingers crossed I can get to all of these as well!
Until next time,
