A Magical Character or Book
Lobizona hits the nail on the head for this prompt with both a magical character and the book. This was such an important, heart tugging, fun, and enjoyable read. It tackles real life immigration issues in our society by combining the real world with a magical world filled with werewolves and will have you flying through the story in no time.
The Perfect Book to Read at Night
I could not put this book down when I was reading it. Clown in a Cornfield is the perfect book to pick up this Halloween, the slasher vibes in this book are just IMMACULATE. Overall, it’s a bloody good time that kept me up super late and was worth every second of sleep I missed out on.
A Book that Truly Shocked You
I’m still trying to recover from the heartache and the betrayal this book caused. It usually takes a lot to shock me when reading a book since I’m pretty good and piecing things together but some of the twists in this book I never saw coming until they slapped me across the face.
A Dark, Evil Character
Pretty much every character in this book…I wish I was kidding. Darling Rose Gold was an interesting read needless to say but all of the characters in this book were truly horrible and evil.
A Character that Should Never Have Died
100% the death of 2020 I will never forgive and that is Lele from House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas.
I will never be over it.
A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More
I am so ready for more vampire smutty goodness, that is all.
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost
My Godzilla loving, massively tall, covered in tattoos, gentle giant Will Grayson. Basically, my second book boyfriend because you already know Damon Torrance is the #1 man in my life but I’m trying to keep this within books I’ve read in 2020.
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You
Reading Catherine House literally felt like I was getting the life sucked out of me right along with the students of the mysterious school. And while I didn’t love this book it’s still quite the unique reading experience with some of the most intriguing writing I’ve come across in a long time.
A Book that Still Haunts You
Until the day I die I will never stop being haunted by this book and the author’s decision that a good ol’ plot twist should include “surprise, we’ve both gone down on each other while one of us knew we were siblings but SIKE we’re really not so it’s totally fine” 60% of the way into the story. I wish y’all could have seen my face when that whole bombshell was dropped it because the absolute disgust and horror was so damn real.
A Book that Really Scared You
It takes a whole lot for a book to scare me. While The Turn of the Key didn’t necessarily “scare” me it certainly creeped me the hell out at times, especially since I was reading it in bed at night. Every little creak or noise in my house definitely had me overthinking and looking for the nearest large object I could use to defend myself if need be.
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With
Reid’s character was so incredibly annoying and whine-y in this book to the point where I really couldn’t stand him. If he doesn’t get a major attitude adjustment for book three we’re going to have big problems.
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time
At this point is anyone even remotely surprised?
I’m pretty sure my love for this book and these characters is endless.
A Cover too Scary to Look At
I’m at a loss here, folks. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a book cover that’s too scary for me to look at. At least not one that I’ve read or have on my TBR. However, if there is a book cover out there with giant spiders on it you better believe I would never even consider picking it up.
